Sake – “Start” earns the stars when served warm

Served Cold. I am someone who is very enthusiastic about my Sake. I try to take as many opportunities as possible to enjoy as many brands and varieties as I can. This one was very basic and did not stand out to me. Its taste was somewhat flat, but still had a bit of a fruity flavor. I was not a fan of the after taste. It was not what I was expecting, but was not offensive. I admit, I am a novice when it comes to sake, and want to explore as many as I can. I hope that this is the worse it ever gets and I believe I will from this point on regarding this sake as my floor. I can only hope it gets at another temperature point because cold was not the one.

Served room temp. is better but not by much. It does smooth out the weak notes more and makes for a bit more subtle flavor.

Served warm. This is a much better way to consume this Sake. Warm really smooths the flavors out even more than room temperature. I guess this would probably be the first I will regard as an exclusively warm style
sake. Cold just is not the way to go with this one.

Overall rating is about a 2 Although it is better at room temp and at warm, given a choice, I would not go for this sake. Is it my inexperience, lack of a mature palate? Who knows, In the end, its what we like more than what we are supposed to like.
